Deposit scheme
1. Fixed Deposit
As far as Fixed Deposit is concerned, the amount is deposited for a specified period so as to avail the interest rate of said period as mentioned deposit receipt. The rate of interest for Fixed Deposits is decided by the Registrar of Co-Operative Societies. And the rate of interest depends on the maturity period. The maturity period varies from 15 days to 20 years. The interest can be received or transferred to Savings/Recurring Accounts monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly. 90% of deposit amount can be availed as loan. Premature withdrawl is permissible but subject to the rules relating to which.
2. Savings Deposit
The primary objective of Saving Bank Account scheme is to make saving awareness among the public. Individuals, association of individuals, societies, clubs, firms, commercial institutions, companies, etc can open a Saving Bank Account. The mode of operations can be suggested Individually, Jointly, Severally. An account can be initiated by
  • Introduction of a person known and acceptable to bank
  • Two copy of latest passport size photo
  • Proof of identity and residence to the satisfaction of bank
Minimum balance Rs 100/- (Account without cheque book)
Minimum balance Rs 500/- (Account with cheque book)
3. Current Deposit
The primary objective of Current Account is to help businessmen, firms companies, public enterprises etc. that have numerous daily banking transactions. Current Accounts are cheque operated accounts. Current account meant only for convenience of business hence they are non-interest bearing accounts
Ina a Current Account, a customer can deposit any amount of money any number of times. He can also withdraw any amount as many times as he wants, as long as he has funds to his credit.
4. Recurring Deposit
In Recurring Deposit account (RD account), a specific amount is invested in bank on monthly basis for a fixed rate of return. Saving awareness is an objective of Recurring Bank Account. The customer can open the account directly. The scheme provides maturity period from 1 year to 10 year.
